Nimfa Vintage&Design
Nimfa Vintage&Design
Client: Conscious people who like art&fashion
Task: 360° brand tasks
Year: 2019-2022
About the project:
-
In 2019, when I founded Nimfa, the Hungarian fashion scene had very limited presence of editorial-style vintage shops or sustainable fashion brands with a minimalisic, high quality mindset. My vision was to represent this niche in Hungary: a brand that combines aesthetics and humanity, where beauty and ethics go hand in hand.
Nimfa was inspired by the stories of Greek nymphs — timeless symbols of the connection between women and nature. Instead of idolizing or neglecting these values, Nimfa sought to redefine them for a modern audience, celebrating conscious fashion, art, design and authentic self-expression.
I also dreamt of the main pieces; silk scarves telling storries of the past for a moder audiance. I wanted to create lasting, weaarble pieces, that celebrated art&literature, where I could express antient stories in a modern way. Packaged and delivered with a rewritten story from greek mythology in a modern language, while wearing an illustration, reflecting to it. My purpose was to bring art and fashion closer to each other, while practicing ethical branding, production, high quality, storytelling, graphic design and illustration, while trying to make it as affordable as possible.
-
Quoted from social stories that were shared regularly:
Nimfa creates slow fashion clothing and curates vintage items for the aesthetically conscious who possess an air for both humanity and beauty.
We are dedicated to delivering all natural, handmade, and ethically manufactured products sourced from within the European Union.
Our art inspired themes engage audiences with the classics of Greek Mythology, calling back the ancient archetypes that echo eternal truths into our lives.
5% of all new item sales will be donated to the Anonymous Ways Foundation in order to help end human trafficking.
We build our values on two pillars: aesthetics & humanity.
We support the arts, design meaningful goods, practice sustainability, and stand for human rights.Being a modern nymph means being a child of nature — respectful toward others and the Planet, while expressing one’s individuality with elegance and grace.
We are creating a community of people who strive to live consciously and kindly.
We deeply respect nature and humankind — both the creators and the wearers.
That’s why our first vintage collection was carefully curated to complement your style with timeless pieces made from the finest natural materials — silk, angora, cashmere, wool, cotton, and linen.
Each item was handpicked for its quality, elegance, and lasting value — offering accessible luxury without creating anything new or consuming additional resources.Vintage is both the past and the future.
Each piece carries stories from another time, while representing one of today’s most sustainable choices — protecting our home, the Planet, by creating less and cherishing what we already have.
-
Running Nimfa was a 360° experience of building a brand from scratch. For three years, I covered almost every aspect of its creation and operation:
Product design & curation → vintage selection, upcycling concepts, small-scale product design, production management.
Branding & marketing → visual identity, editorial photoshoots, social media communication, influencer collaborations, web design, copywriting.
Customer experience → managing a studio, local pop-up markets, online communication, packaging.
Operations & finance → product uploads, shipping, accounting, and all administration — entirely self-funded.
This wide scope gave me a deep, hands-on understanding of the opportunities and limitations of running a small brand.
-
Storytelling as identity: each collection was connected to a rewritten nymph myth, positioning the brand within a larger narrative universe.
Editorial photography & art direction: 35+ photoshoots and endless moodboarding built the visual language of Nimfa, influenced by Scandinavian minimalism and timeless typographic design.
Collaborations: over 20 collaborations with photographers, models, and designers strengthened community and visibility.
Sustainability as innovation: upcycling was still rare in Hungary in 2019 — Nimfa introduced it as a natural, desirable practice, alongside curated vintage and local designer products.
-
Grew a community of 3,700+ loyal followers.
People in the Budapest alter-artsy community still recognize the name.
Designed and released 25+ different upcycled products.
Designed and launched a unique scarf collection. (complete design process, production, packaging, marketing, branding, etc.)
Designed and launched 5 different earrings + their alterations. (complete design process, production, packaging, marketing, branding, etc.)
Curated over 1,000 unique high quality vintage pieces.
Supported small designers by talking about them and selling their products.
Built a distinct brand identity that stood out in Hungary’s fashion landscape.
Through Nimfa, I demonstrated that slow fashion can be both aesthetically aspirational and socially responsible while bringing people together, and creating events and spaces to communicate and celebrate life.
-
Nimfa was more than a brand — it was a laboratory for learning design, storytelling, production, business, sustainability and ethical fashion in one cohesive project. It taught me:
how to lead a brand holistically, from concept to customer;
how to align visual identity with deep values;
how to innovate within a conservative market.
This experience shaped my approach to future projects: I see design not only as creating visuals, but as building meaningful systems that connect people, culture, and responsibility.
The Pillars of Nimfa
In-house Design
-
Nimfa’s in-house design pillar encompasses the creation of scarves, jewelry, and clothing designed and produced with a focus on quality, material integrity, and functionality.
Highlights include the Daphne silk scarf, whose design incorporates detailed motifs, and the jewelry collection, which balances minimalist basics with statement pieces. All items are produced with high-quality materials: 100% silk scarves made in Italy, gold and rhodium-plated jewelry made in Hungary, and clothing pieces from linen-rami blends or viscose with pearl button accents.
The goal is to provide affordable, durable, and versatile pieces that combine craftsmanship with everyday usability, maintaining a consistent aesthetic across all product categories.
Vintage Curation
-
The vintage curation pillar focuses on carefully selected pre-owned clothing, emphasizing minimalist style, neutral palettes, and high-quality fabrics such as wool, angora, cashmere, cotton, linen, rami, viscose, and silk. Seasonal pieces often feature details like pearl buttons to complement a timeless wardrobe.
Clients can access a private showroom, where selections are curated to match their personal style and wardrobe needs. This approach allows Nimfa to offer well-made, fashion-forward pieces while avoiding the inconsistencies and challenges of traditional thrift shopping.
Designer Curation
-
The designer curation pillar aims to support emerging designers through collaboration and exposure. Nimfa works with underrepresented designers, featuring their collections on the Nimfa website, conducting interviews, and providing storytelling context.
This initiative provides designers with income, visibility, and access to new audiences, while reinforcing Nimfa’s commitment to ethical collaboration and community-focused practices. Although the brand gains limited direct financial benefit, this approach strengthens Nimfa’s positioning as a platform where aesthetic and ethical values intersect.

Jewelry Design
-
Nimfa Jewelry was created at the intersection of mythology, design, and emotional consciousness. Each piece is inspired by a nymph or goddess from Greek mythology — symbolic figures that embody human virtues, desires, and the complexity of womanhood.
The main goal of the collection is to translate mythological archetypes into wearable symbols of strength, harmony, and self-awareness. Every design carries a quiet message: that beauty, purpose, and consciousness can coexist.
Nimfa aims to celebrate the feminine essence in its many forms — nurturing, powerful, and resilient — while offering timeless, ethically made jewelry that connects the wearer to stories older than civilization itself.
-
All Nimfa jewelry pieces are handcrafted in Hungary, produced either on a made-to-order basis or in small, limited series to ensure ethical and sustainable creation.
The process begins with the concept and 3D modeling of the design, followed by casting in a local Hungarian foundry. Each raw form then travels to a jeweler’s workshop, where it is refined and finalized by a female goldsmith.
The final step — electroplating — is carried out in Budapest, using 24K or 14K gold, or rhodium, depending on the piece. This approach ensures complete local production, transparency, and minimal waste, while allowing each piece to maintain its handmade authenticity. The collaboration between small workshops also reflects the brand’s core values: community, craftsmanship, and conscious creation.
-
The result is a collection of myth-inspired jewelry that balances simplicity and symbolism — pieces that feel timeless yet deeply personal.
Every earring and pendant carries a story: of love, freedom, or rebirth. Together, they form a visual mythology that encourages reflection and self-connection.
Through ethical production and poetic design, Nimfa Jewelry becomes more than an accessory — it is a daily reminder of strength, harmony, and the beauty of conscious living.
Ambrosia
-
24K golden or silver plated earrings made to order in Budapest, Hungary, by a female jewelry artist.
These earrings were inspired by mythology, specifically by the myth of Ambrosia — the divine food and drink of the Olympian gods, believed to grant long life and immortality to those who consumed it. Often mentioned alongside nectar, Ambrosia symbolized vitality and eternal youth.
In mythology, Ambrosia was also personified as a nymph entrusted by Zeus with the upbringing of Dionysus.
The Ambrosia earrings embody the essence of longevity, immortality, and conscious living — a gentle reminder to nurture the habits and choices that sustain our inner harmony.Would you live more consciously if you were immortal?
Gaia
-
Available in three sizes, made to order in Budapest, Hungary, by a female jewelry artist.
Each piece is crafted from rhodium-plated brass or finished with 24K or 14K gold plating. These earrings were inspired by Gaia, the primordial goddess and personification of Earth in Greek mythology — the mother of all life. From her body, mountains rose, and from her breath, the sky and sea were born. She represents creation, stability, and the eternal cycle of renewal that sustains every living being.
The Gaia earrings embody this grounding energy — simple yet powerful forms that remind us of our connection to the Earth and to our own inner balance. Wearing them is an act of returning to origin, a quiet celebration of strength, nurture, and harmony with nature.
Galatea
-
24K golden or silver plated earrings made to order in Budapest, Hungary, by a female jewelry artist.
Inspired by the myth of Galatea and Acis, these earrings tell a story of eternal love and transformation.
Galatea, the fairest among the sea nymphs, fell deeply in love with the mortal Acis. When he was killed, she transformed his blood into the Sicilian River Acis so that his spirit could live on forever. The Galatea earrings represent enduring love and emotional depth, a flowing connection between the earthly and the divine. Their soft curves and luminous finish echo the movement of water — a symbol of continuity and devotion.

Nimfa x Secondland — Collaboration
-
Fragments of Earth represents the gemstones attached to the base earring, Gaia.
Gaia is the personified spirit of the Earth — the mother of all life. Her Roman name, Terra, carries the same power and embodies the same values. -
Secondland is a slow fashion brand where carefully selected vintage pieces and upcycled treasures by young fashion designers come to life.
This jewelry collaboration was inspired by the distinctive crystal embellishments from their first upcycled collection — decorative elements originally leftover from jewelry production. -
The asymmetric Gaia Terra earrings were born from the aesthetic fusion of Nimfa’s Gaia hoops and Secondland’s crystals.
The irregular shapes and subtle color variations of the gemstones are both an intentional design feature and a reflection of nature’s imperfect beauty. -
Created in the name of sustainability, sisterhood, and mythology, this collaboration unites two ethical brands that mutually support each other’s values and vision.
By bringing fragments of our planet into both garments and jewelry, the project highlights what truly matters — the protection and reverence of Mother Earth.
